PXM's production sites keep their normal public routing. Folder parking is an explicit local development workflow. Parked sites use .test names, local HTTPS and loopback-only routing.
pxm web enable --email you@example.com pxm dns enable pxm park add /home/you/Projects pxm park list
DNS integration requires a running systemd-resolved. Enabling it asks for administrator access once to install an immutable, verified copy of the PXM helper and two owned system units. A dedicated dummy interface routes only .test to PXM's loopback DNS listener. PXM does not replace /etc/resolv.conf, change public DNS servers, or take over another application's .test route. It refuses foreign units, links and suffix routes.
Projects are immediate subdirectories with public/index.php, index.php, public/index.html or index.html. A project named studio becomes studio.test. Hidden directories, symlinks and directories without a supported entry file are skipped. Paths must belong to your Linux account and have safe permissions. PHP projects use their selected signed runtime; a public subdirectory is preferred so private application files stay outside the document root.
New sites start automatically. Use pxm park add /home/you/Projects --no-autostart to add new sites stopped. Stopping an individual parked site keeps it stopped during later synchronization. A running PXM daemon checks parked folders every thirty seconds, or you can run pxm park sync immediately. If a synchronization cannot complete, fix the reported problem and rerun pxm park sync; PXM retains its ownership reservation for safe recovery.
Local HTTPS certificates come from PXM's local certificate authority. Trust is explicit: use pxm web trust on this development computer if you want its system applications to trust that authority. Some browsers maintain their own trust store. Do not export the authority's private key or configure clients to skip certificate verification.
pxm park sync pxm site stop studio.test pxm park remove /home/you/Projects pxm dns disable
Removing a parked folder removes only PXM's registered sites. Project files and databases remain in place. DNS disable removes only PXM's verified DNS integration. Production sites and unrelated networking remain unchanged. The root-owned immutable helper may remain on disk for ownership verification; it runs only through the installed integration.
